Shown here are my takeaways from all 48 PPM-measured markets, based on Nielsen Audio’s 6+ total week stats from the July 2025 ratings period (June 26 – July 23).
Round One
New York
Not only does iHeartMedia-owned Adult Contemporary WLTW bounce back from June’s half-share loss with a July increase nearly twice that magnitude (7.5 – 8.4, +.9, 6+), “106.7 Lite FM” is #1 the 35th consecutive time. Entering the June sweep, WLTW trended 8.2 – 8.0 – 7.8 – 8.0 (February 2025 – May 2025, 6+). In the Audacy cluster, Sports Talk/Yankees flagship WFAN “Sports Radio The Fan” (2.6 – 3.1, #14 to #13, 6+) and Urban Contemporary sibling WXBK “94.7 The Block” (1.5 – 2.0, #20 to #17, 6+) each improve by one-half share. By virtue of June’s +.6 to 4.9 (6+), WNYC-FM curtailed four consecutive downturns that resulted in a net loss of nine-tenths (5.2 – 4.9 – 4.7 – 4.4 – 4.3, 6+). In July, however, the New York Public Radio News/Talk facility regresses by … nine-tenths to 4.0 (sixth to ninth, 6+).
Los Angeles
Owing to a seven-tenths June increase, KRTH crossed the six-share mark (5.9 – 6.6, 6+). Now in July, “K-Earth 101” lops on another eight-tenths to enter seven-share territory (6.6 – 7.4, 6+); moreover, the Audacy Classic Hits facility is #1 the third month in a row. “K-Earth 101” holds a 1.3-share (6+) advantage over iHeartMedia Adult Contemporary “KOST 103.5,” which gains one-half share (5.6 – 6.1, 6+). Following seven straight sweeps at #1, KOST slipped to second this time last month and repeats in the runner-up slot. Three straight upticks by “95.5 KLOS” generated a net increase of eight-tenths (3.6 – 3.9 – 4.1 – 4.4, 6+), but the Meruelo Media-owned Rock station forfeits the entire increase (3.6, -.8, seventh to eighth, 6+).
Chicago
Continuing their battle for market supremacy are iHeartMedia Adult Contemporary WLIT “93.9 Lite FM” and Hubbard Broadcasting-owned Classic Rock WDRV “97.1 The Drive.” In May, the former held a slim one-tenth lead over the latter to claim bragging rights, but “The Drive” took over at #1 in June. With “Lite” gaining one-tenth (4.8 – 4.9, 6+) and “Drive” faltering by nine-tenths (5.8 – 4.9, 6+), the two are now tied at the top. Immediately prior to July, WDRV had four straight up or flat months for a collective +1.1 (4.7 – 5.1 – 5.3 – 5.3 – 5.8, 6+). Answering June’s dip of four-tenths with a July gain of six-tenths (2.3 – 1.9 – 2.5, 6+), Spanish Broadcasting System Regional Mexican WLEY-FM “La Ley 107.9” returns to the top twenty at #16. A combined +.7 in May and June (4.3 – 4.6 – 5.0, 6+), Audacy Country WUSN “US-99” drops one-half share to 4.5 (second to sixth, 6+).
San Francisco
There are major fluctuations for the spoken-word facilities occupying the top two spots. Even though KQED Inc.-owned public News/Talk KQED forfeits a hefty -1.5 (11.3 – 9.8, 6+), it’s #1 the seventh straight month. The last three survey periods have actually been quite a rollercoaster ride for KQED, which has been: -1.0 (May); +1.7 (June) and now -1.5 (July). Meanwhile, KQED holds a 1.6-share (6+) lead over the runner-up, Audacy’s KCBS-AM & KFRC-FM, which gains one full-share (7.2 – 8.2, 6+). “All News AM 740 & FM 106.9” registers its third straight sweep without a loss for a net +1.9 (6.3 – 7.2 – 7.2 – 8.2, 6+). Up a collective half-share in May and June (3.1 – 3.5 – 3.6, 6+), co-owned Alternative KITS “Live 105” surrenders six-tenths to 3.0 (sixth to tenth, 6+).
Dallas
Country outlets separated by two-tenths are lodged in the #1 and #2 positions – and – they just to happen to be Cumulus Media siblings. Specifically, KPLX “99.5 The Wolf” adds one-tenth to June’s +.5 (4.8 – 5.3 – 5.4, 6+) and repeats in the lead. Co-owned KSCS “New Country 96.3,” which coughed up seven-tenths in June, wins back two-tenths (5.7 – 5.0 – 5.2, third to second, 6+). Entering last month’s survey period, KSCS was a net +1.8 via four straight improvements (3.9 – 4.4 – 4.9 – 5.4 – 5.7, 6+). Recapturing the six-tenths it squandered in June (4.4 – 3.8 – 4.4, 6+), Audacy Regional Mexican KMVK vaults from tenth to fourth; “La Grande 107.5” was +1.2 in April and May (3.2 – 3.6 – 4.4, 6+). Following three straight upticks that yielded eight-tenths (3.5 – 3.9 – 4.2 – 4.3, 6+), North Texas Public Broadcasting’s “90.1 KERA News” surrenders seven-tenths (3.6, #6 to #11, 6+).
Houston
Without an increase the past three sweeps for a net loss of one-half share (7.7 – 7.6 – 7.3 – 7.2, 6+), iHeartMedia Adult Contemporary KODA “Sunny 99.1” is nonetheless #1 the 12th successive time. Progressing from tenth to eighth, Cumulus Media CHR “104.1 KRBE” is a combined +.8 via three consecutive up or flat months (3.5 – 3.6 – 3.6 – 4.3, 6+). Declining by one-half share each are iHeartMedia Alternative KTBZ “94.5 The Buzz” (sixth to seventh, 6+) and Univision Spanish Adult Hits KOVE “Amor 106.5” (#9 to #12, 6+). “The Buzz” has its fifth consecutive down or flat sweep for a net -1.0 (5.4 – 5.4 – 5.2 – 5.0 – 4.9 – 4.4, 6+), while “Amor” is a collective -.9 in three straight dips (4.2 – 4.0 – 3.8 – 3.3, 6+).
Atlanta
Despite having to substitute June’s half-share gain with a July loss of seven-tenths (7.7 – 8.2 – 7.5, 6+), Cox Media Group’s WSRV “Classic Hits 97.1 The River” is #1 the fifth consecutive survey period. June 2025’s 8.2 was the finest 6+-stat for “The River” in exactly one year (8.2, June 2024, as well). Owing to three bumps in succession, Educational Media Foundation Contemporary Christian WAKL “106.7 K-Love” has more than doubled (net +3.2) its 6+ stat (2.6 – 4.1 – 4.6 – 5.8, seventh to fifth, 6+). Conversely, in three straight down or flat sweeps, iHeartMedia Urban Contemporary WRDG “96.1 The Beat” is a collective -1.4 (4.1 – 4.1 – 3.4 – 2.7, #12 to #16, 6+).
Philadelphia
Down nine-tenths this time last month (9.2 – 8.3, 6+), Beasley Broadcast Group’s WMGK “Classic Rock 102.9 MGK” regains two-tenths to 8.5 (6+) and leads the pack the fifth consecutive month. University of Pennsylvania Triple A WXPN “88.5 XPN” adds seven-tenths to June’s pickup of two-tenths (3.4 – 3.6 – 4.3, 6+) and advances from tenth to eighth. As a result of dropping eight-tenths (5.0 – 4.2, seventh to ninth, 6+), Beasley Broadcast Group Country WXTU “92.5 XTU” has its lowest 6+-stat since “Holiday” 2024’s 3.6.
Nassau-Suffolk (Long Island)
A spoken-word outlet is again on top here: In July, it’s Audacy all-News WINS, which notches its third straight increase for a net +1.3 (5.6 – 5.8 – 6.2 – 6.9, second to first, 6+). This (6.9) is the highest 6+-performance by “1010 WINS @ 92.3 FM” since its 7.1 in February. Displaced after a two-month residency at #1 is News/Talk “77 WABC” (6.7 – 6.4, -.3, first to second, 6+). The Red Apple Media-owned facility posted back-to-back-to-back +1.3 improvements (2.6 – 3.9 – 5.2 – 6.5, 6+), before adding two-tenths in June. With a July +.8 to 4.2 (tenth to sixth, 6+) Cox Media Group Classic Rock “102.3 WBAB” erases roughly 70% of June’s -1.1. Plunging by -1.1 and -1.2, respectively, are Connoisseur Media Adult Contemporary WKJY “K-Joy 98.3” (4.7 – 3.6, fourth to tenth, 6+) and iHeartMedia Rhythmic CHR WKTU “103.5 KTU” (2.7 – 1.5, #12 to #19, 6+).
Riverside-San Bernardino-Ontario
Off a modest combined four-tenths in May and June (10.2 – 9.9 – 9.8, 6+), Entravision Spanish Adult Hits KLYY answers with a massive +1.6 to 11.4 (6+). In addition to being #1 the seventh straight month, “Jose” has a more than two-to-one lead over its second-place challenger, Anaheim Broadcasting Classic Hits KOLA, which is without an increase the fifth straight sweep for a net -3.0 (8.6 – 7.6 – 6.8 – 6.0 – 6.0 – 5.6, 6+). Meanwhile, Univision Spanish Contemporary KLVE “K-Love 107.5” is also a collective -3.0, although that’s in three consecutive dips (6.9 – 6.5 – 5.2 – 3.9, flat at #3, 6+).
San Jose
Although off three-tenths following June’s +1.1 (4.4 – 5.5 – 5.2, 6+), KOIT-FM “Better Music For A Better Workday” repeats at #1. The Bonneville International Adult Contemporary outlet, however, has company in the penthouse as Audacy’s KCBS-AM & KFRC-FM advances from second to a first-place tie. In three consecutive up or flat trends, “All News AM 740 & FM 106.9” has gained a collective six-tenths (4.6 – 4.7 – 5.2 – 5.2, 6+). At the same time when Bonneville International CHR KMVQ “99.7 Now” gains eight-tenths (3.4 – 4.2, ninth to fifth, 6+), iHeartMedia Hot AC KIOI “Star 101.3” and Audacy Alternative KITS “Live 105” regress by that margin. “Star and “Live 105” have identical toplines (3.9 – 3.1, sixth to ninth, 6+).
Middlesex-Somerset-Union
Over and above flaunting the loftiest (6+) June 2025 – July 2025 increase by any station in Nielsen Audio’s 12 Round One markets (a massive +3.5), iHeartMedia Classic Rock WAXQ “Q-104.3” progresses from second to first (6.3 – 9.8, 6+). It’s thus a June-only stay at #1 for Spanish Broadcasting System Spanish Tropical WSKQ, which slips from first to third (6.4, -1.0, 6+). Prior to July’s full-share loss, “Mega 97.7” recorded three straight increases for a net +3.1 (4.3 – 4.9 – 5.5 – 7.4, 6+). Obliterating June’s loss of two-tenths with an impressive +2.3 (5.1 – 4.9 – 7.2, 6+), iHeartMedia Adult Contemporary WLTW “106.7 Lite FM” jumps from sixth to second with its strongest 6+ Middlesex showing since “Holiday 2024’s 13.1. As Audacy Hot AC WNEW-FM “NEW 102.7” logs a +1.1 (4.3 – 5.4, seventh to fifth, 6+), Beasley Broadcast Group’s WDHA “105.5 The Rock of New Jersey” surrenders a -1.0 (1.9 – .9, #15 to #18, 6+). As a result of three straight losses, “NEW 102.7” had been a collective -1.1 (5.4 – 5.1 – 4.7 – 4.3, 6+).
Round Two
Washington, DC
In one of the most hotly-contested two-station battles for the “top” spot in a PPM-market, Hubbard Broadcasting’s “WTOP News” unseats News/Talk WAMU “88.5 American University Radio” (12.7 – 11.2, -1.5, 6+). Just last month, WAMU posted a one-half share increase to 12.7, its strongest 6+-stat since January 2025’s 13.4. After 11 consecutive sweeps at #1, however, it segues to #2. Over and above having claimed the runner-up slot in each of WAMU’s 11 consecutive #1 showings, WTOP has now been in double-digits (6+) in the last eight survey periods and is a net +2.6 via three straight increases (10.5 – 10.7 – 11.7 – 13.1, 6+). Meanwhile, the last five (6+) fluctuations for Cumulus Media News/Talk “105.9 FM WMAL” have been: +.8 (February – March); -.6 (March – April); +1.0 (April – May); -1.0 (May – June); and +.6 (4.1 – 4.7, June – July, seventh to fourth, 6+). After recording a 6+-stat between 2.0 – 2.7 in each of the last ten survey periods, Radio One Urban Contemporary “93.9 WKYS” busts out a +.9 to 3.2 (#16 to #12, 6+). Frozen on 3.9 (6+) in March, April, and May, Audacy Classic Hits WIAD “94.7 The Drive” gained seven-tenths to 4.6 (June, 6+) – but – surrenders a July -1.6 to 3.0 (#6 to #13, 6+).
Boston
This time last month, Audacy Adult Contemporary WMJX “Magic 106.7” and iHeartMedia News – Talk hybrid WBZ-AM “News Radio 1030” were locked in a first-place tie. While the deadlock is broken, neither station comes out on top in July. By gaining six-tenths (5.1 – 5.7, 6+), iHeartMedia Classic Rock “100.7 WZLX” zooms from fourth to first. WZLX’s February through July (6+) topline is very consistent: 5.2 – 5.7 – 5.4 – 5.3 – 5.1 – 5.7. Having held or shared #1 honors the past five sweeps, “Magic” slips to third-place and is a combined -1.8 in four successive losses (7.2 – 5.9 – 5.8 – 5.7 – 5.4, 6+). In June, “News Radio 103” gained four-tenths to 5.7 (6+), progressing from second to tie “Magic” at #1; however, WBZ-AM plummets by -1.2 to 4.5 (first to sixth, 6+). Recapturing in full its combined -1.0 in May and June with July’s +1.0, iHeartMedia Rhythmic CHR WJMN “Jam’n 94.5” advances from #18 to #16 (2.9 – 2.5 – 1.9 – 2.9, 6+). Registering July losses of one-half share are: Boston University Public News/Talk “90.9 WBUR” (5.0 – 4.5, flat in sixth-place, 6+); Audacy Sports Talk/Red Sox flagship WEEI-FM “93.7 Boston’s Sports Original” (4.9 – 4.4, seventh to eighth, 6+); and Beasley Broadcast Group Rhythmic Hot AC WBQT “Hot 96.9” (3.9 – 3.4, #11 to #13, 6+). WEEI-FM has a six-tenths lead over Beasley Broadcast Group rival, WBZ-FM “98.5 The Sports Hub,” which is a net -5.2 in six straight erosions (9.0 – 6.8 – 6.2 – 5.2 – 4.6 – 4.0 – 3.8, unchanged at #9, 6+). In three consecutive increases, “Hot” had been a net +.9 (3.0 – 3.3 – 3.4 – 3.9, 6+).
Miami
July’s top three finishers here are separated by one-tenth, with Audacy-owned Adult Contemporary WLYF progressing from second to first, as “101.5 Lite FM” registers a 6.6 (6+) the third time in a row. It’s a June-only stay at #1 for Cox Media Group Urban AC WHQT, which forfeits the four-tenths it added this time last month (6.5 – 6.9 – 6.5, 6+). “Hot 105” is tied in the runner-up slot with co-owned Adult Contemporary WFEZ “Easy 93.1” (6.0 – 6.5, +.5, third to second, 6+). While iHeartMedia Classic Hits WBGG “Big 105.9” adds eight-tenths to June’s +.3 (3.1 – 3.4 – 4.2, #11 to #7, 6+), Spanish Contemporary sibling WZTU “Tu 94.9” surrenders two-thirds of June’s increase of six-tenths (3.3 – 3.9 – 3.5, -.4, #9 to #12, 6+).
Seattle
A combined +.9 in June and July (7.5 – 7.9 – 8.4, 6+), University of Washington-owned News/Talk “94.9 KUOW” is #1 the seventh month in a row and notches its highest 6+-stat (8.4) since October 2024’s 8.5. With a full-share increase to 4.5 (6+), Classic Radio “Classical KING” pulls the plug on four straight down or flat trends that resulted in a net -1.6 (5.1 – 4.3 – 4.3 – 3.7 – 3.5, 6+). Moreover, it zooms from #12 to #5. This marks the fourth downward move in succession by iHeartMedia Classic Rock “102.5 KZOK,” accounting for a collective loss of two full-shares (6.4 – 5.9 – 5.6 – 4.4, third to sixth, 6+).
Detroit
Albeit #1 the fourth month in succession, Audacy Sports Talk/Tigers flagship WXYT-FM “97.1 The Ticket” is nonetheless a combined -1.2 in three straight declines (8.9 – 8.6 – 8.0 – 7.7, 6+). “The Ticket” was a combined +2.7 in March and April (6.2 – 7.6 – 8.9). Meanwhile, WXYT-FM’s internet stream is without a loss the fifth time in a row (ironically) for a net +1.2 (1.6 – 1.7 – 2.1 – 2.1 – 2.3 – 2.8, #19 to #16, 6+). As a result of notching its fourth uptick in a row, Cumulus Media Hot AC “96.3 WDVD” has generated a collective +1.4 (3.3 – 3.6 – 3.9 – 4.2 – 4.7, tenth to eighth, 6+). Faltering by seven-tenths each are Audacy’s WWJ “News Radio 950” (4.6 – 3.9, eighth to tenth, 6+) and Wayne State University public News/Talk “101.9 WDET” (2.7 – 2.0, #17 to #19, 6+).
Phoenix
It’s déjà vu for iHeartMedia Adult Contemporary KESZ “99.9 KEZ” and Hubbard Broadcasting’s “Classic Rock 100.7 KSLX” as they post identical (6+) July toplines (8.3 – 9.1, +.8) and are thus remained deadlocked at #1. This is the seventh consecutive increase for KSLX for a net +3.7 (5.4 – 5.6 – 5.8 – 5.9 – 7.5 – 8.1 – 8.3 – 9.1, 6+) and its fourth straight month at #1. KESZ reigned as market leader 21 successive survey periods before KSLX unseated it in April. KESZ is now a combined +1.8, owing to three upticks in a row (7.3 – 7.4 – 8.3 – 9.1, 6+). An increase of six-tenths (2.5 – 3.1, 6+) enables Univision Spanish Adult Hits KOMR “Amor 106.3” to leap from #16 to #10. Conversely, Hubbard Broadcasting Alternative KDKB “Alt AZ 93.3” records a -.8 (3.6 – 2.8, 6+) and departs the top ten (#8 to #11).
Minneapolis
Despite being a collective -2.8 the past three survey periods (10.9 – 9.8 – 8.4 – 8.1, 6+), iHeartMedia Sports Talk KFXN “100.3 The Fan” is #1 the seventh straight month. In four straight sweeps without a loss – including July’s +.9 – Minnesota Public Radio Classical KSJN “Your Classical MPR” is a net +1.3 (1.8 – 1.8 – 2.0 – 2.2 – 3.1, unchanged at #14, 6+). All three of the market’s commercial News/Talk outlets post June 2025 – July 2025 dips: Audacy-owned/Minnesota Twins flagship WCCO “News Talk 830” (4.2 – 3.7, -.5, flat at #12); Hubbard Broadcasting’s KTMY “My Talk 107.1” (2.2 – 2.0, -.2, #14 to #15); and iHeartMedia-owned KTLK “104.9 The Patriot” (2.2 – 1.9, -.3, #14 to #17, 6+).
San Diego
After registering three increases in succession for an overall +1.7 (8.3 – 8.9 – 9.0 – 10.0, 6+), Audacy Classic Hits KXSN forfeits all but three-tenths of that gain (-1.4) to 8.6 (6+). Even so, “Sunny 98.1” is #1 the seventh month in a row. Adult Contemporary sibling KYXY “Kick-See 96.5” is without a loss for the fifth straight survey period for a net +1.7 (4.9 – 5.0 – 5.4 – 5.8 – 5.8 – 6.6, fourth to third, 6+). Locked on 5.5 (6+) in May and June, co-owned Sports Talk/Padres flagship KWFN “97.3 The Fan” plunges by a full-share to 4.5 (fifth to sixth, 6+). Shortly after Lotus Communications acquired KFBG “The Big FM” from Local Media San Diego, the Adult Hits format was yanked. Regional Mexican “Frontera 100.7” emerged this past May and debuts in July’s top twenty (.6 – 1.1 – +.5, #20).
Tampa
Prior to this past April, you could plan on penciling-in Cox Media Group Adult Contemporary WDUV “Lite Favorites 105.5” as the market’s #1 station (6+). After all, it had accomplished that feat 46 straight survey periods … until Radio Training Network Contemporary Christian WCIE “The Joy FM” terminated that stunning streak. Here’s what has transpired: WCIE #1, April; WDUV #1, May; WCIE #1, June; and WDUV #1, July. Specifically in July, WDUV is up five-tenths (7.3 – 7.8, second to first, 6+), while WCIE drops one-tenth (7.5 – 7.4, first to second, 6+). In the iHeartMedia cluster, Country WFUS “US-103.5” logs a +1.0 (5.3, ninth to third, 6+), compared to Spanish Tropical sibling WRUB “Rumba 95.7” regressing by -1.2 (2.0, #12 to #18, 6+). This is a stark turnaround from June when “US-103.5” eroded by -1.7 to 4.3 (6+) and “Rumba 95.7” escalated by +1.4 to 3.2 (6+).
Denver
On the heels of June’s whopping +1.3 to 7.7 (6+), Bonneville International Adult Contemporary KOSI “Real Music Variety” slips two-tenths to 7.5 (6+), but is #1 the fifth consecutive survey period. Off a combined seven-tenths in May and June (5.1 – 4.5 – 4.4, 6+), Audacy Classic Rock KQMT “99.5 The Mountain” rebounds with a +1.2 to 5.6 (seventh to third, 6+). Sputtering by one-half share are KSE Radio Ventures Sports Talk KKSE-FM “Altitude Sports 92.5” and Rocky Mountain Public Media’s KUVO “KuVo Jazz.” Both have identical (6+) toplines: 1.8 – 1.3, #21 to #20.
Baltimore
The rollercoaster ride continues for Urban One Urban AC WWIN-FM. A collective +3.2 via five straight months without a loss (6.1 – 7.1 – 8.0 – 8.2 – 9.2 – 9.3, 6+), “Magic 95.9” surrendered a -1.2 in June, but now boasts a +1.5 to 9.6 (6+) and is #1 the sixth consecutive sweep. Improving by three-tenths are its Urban Contemporary siblings WERQ “92-Q Jams” (5.4 – 5.7, steady in fifth-place, 6+) and “93.9 WKYS” (.9 – 1.2, #19 to #18, 6+), as well as Audacy’s WWMX “Mix 106.5” (4.3 – 4.6, unchanged at #6, 6+). After being up or flat in three straight sweeps for a net +1.3 (6.2 – 6.8 – 6.8 – 7.5, 6+), Hearst Communications’ WIYY “98 Rock” relinquishes all but three-tenths of that gain (6.5, -1.0, 6+), but carries on in the runner-up slot.
St. Louis
Albeit down a combined six-tenths in June and July (9.6 – 9.5 – 9.0, 6+), Hubbard Broadcasting’s KSHE “Real Rock Radio” is #1 the seventh month in succession. University of Missouri-St. Louis News/Talk KWMU tacks on one-half share to June’s +1.0 (3.8 – 4.8 – 5.3, 6+) to progress from eighth to sixth. Also improving by one-half share are Audacy Adult Contemporary “102.5 KEZK” (5.5 – 6.0, unchanged in fifth-place, 6+) and Gateway Creative Broadcasting-owned Contemporary Christian KXBS “Boost 95.5,” which essentially sextuples (+1.9) its 6+-stat via five straight upticks (.4 – .6 – 1.2 – 1.6 – 1.8 – 2.3, steady at #16, 6+). Immediately after co-owned/similarly-formatted KLJY posted a +1.1 (5.7 – 6.8, 6+),“99.1 Joy FM” surrenders six-tenths to 6.2 (third to fourth, 6+).
Round Three
Portland
Continuing an alternating down-up pattern that commenced in March, iHeartMedia Adult Contemporary KKCW “K-103” improves by nine-tenths (9.0 – 8.8 – 9.3 – 8.9 – 9.8, 6+) and is #1 for the tenth consecutive survey period. Audacy Classic Rock “92.3 KGON” records its third straight gain (+1.2) and has netted two full-shares since April (4.8 – 5.1 – 5.6 – 6.8, sixth to fourth, 6+). Fully eradicating June’s -1.0 with July’s +1.1 (4.0 – 3.0 – 4.1, 6+), All Classical Public Media-owned KQAC “All Classical Radio” returns to the top ten (#13 to #9). A -1.4 by KOPB “OPB Radio” (6.7 – 5.3, fourth to sixth, 6+) lowers the Oregon Public Broadcasting News/Talk outlet to the five-share level for the first time since February’s 5.6 (6+).
Charlotte
Over and above flaunting a net +3.2 owing to four consecutive upticks (5.7 – 6.5 – 8.1 – 8.8 – 8.9, 6+), Beasley Broadcast Group Adult Contemporary WKQC “K-104.7” is on top for the third straight time. A collective +1.9 in June and July (3.4 – 4.1 – 5.3, 6+), iHeartMedia Classic Rock WRFX “99.7 The Fox” leaps from tenth to seventh. On the heels of June’s -1.1 (5.6 – 4.5, 6+), Urban One Hot AC WLNK further erodes by -1.4 to 3.1 (6+) and departs the top ten (#9 to #14); in May, “Mix 107.9” notched a full-share increase.
San Antonio
There are numerous significant June 2025 – July 2025 fluctuations here – the majority by Cox Media Group properties – including a new number one. This time last month, CMG’s “99.5 KISS Rocks San Antonio” succeeded Hot AC-turned-CHR sibling KSMG “Hits 105.3” at the top. Turnaround though is fair play as “Hits 105.3” (6.6 – 7.5, +.9, 6+) displaces KISS, which spirals by a whopping -2.5 (8.4 – 5.9, 6+) and slips to fourth; KISS was #1 in March and April. In June, “Hits 105.3” plummeted by -1.3 and fell from first to third (7.9 – 6.6, 6+). Also in the Cox Media Group cluster, Country KCYY “Y-100” is +1.1 (5.2 – 6.3, seventh to third, 6+), although co-owned Classic Rock KTKX “106.7 The Eagle” regresses by that margin (6.1 – 5.0, -1.1, fourth to seventh, 6+). Registering impressive increases of +1.4 and +1.2, respectively, are Educational Media Foundation Contemporary Christian siblings KZLV “91.3 K-Love” (4.5 – 5.9, eighth to fourth, 6+) and KZAR “Air 1” (1.7 – 2.9, #20 to #13, 6+). As Alpha Media-owned KTSA “News Talk 550 & 107.1” logs a +1.0 (2.0 – 3.0, #17 to #12, 6+), iHeartMedia Adult Contemporary KQXT “Q-101.9” repeats June’s -1.3 (4.9 – 3.6 – 2.3, #10 to #16, 6+).
Sacramento
Notwithstanding that it’s off four-tenths in back-to-back sweeps (9.4 – 9.0 – 8.6, 6+), iHeartMedia’s KFBK “News 93.1” is #1 the fourth month in a row. California State University, Sacramento owned/Classical-formatted “88.9 KXPR” nearly duplicates June’s +1.1, as it chalks up a +1.0 (1.4 – 2.5 – 3.5, #15 to #11, 6+). Although steady in third-place, Bonneville International Adult Contemporary KYMX “Mix 96” has its fifth straight decrease for an overall loss of -2.5 (8.7 – 8.5 – 8.2 – 7.9 – 6.9 – 6.2, 6+).
Pittsburgh
As a result of posting back-to-back gains of one-half share (9.7 – 10.2 – 10.7, 6+), Frischling Family Adult Hits WRRK progresses from second to first. Furthermore, “96.9 Bob FM” is in double-digits (6+) for the fourth time in the last nine sweeps. Segueing from first to second is iHeartMedia Classic Hits WWSW “94.5 3WS” (10.9 – 9.9, -1.0, 6+), which had been on top the past seven months. WWSW returns in full the +1.0 it gained via three improvements in succession (9.9 – 10.6 – 10.9, 6+). Down a combined six-tenths in May and June (6.4 – 6.0 – 5.8, 6+), Renda Media Adult Contemporary WSHH “Wish 99.7” wipes away that deficit with a twice-the-size increase (7.1, +1.3, 6+) and carries on in fifth-place.
Salt Lake City
AS a result of four straight increases, independent KSOP-FM boasted a net +2.2 (4.7 – 5.2 – 5.7 – 6.0 – 6.9, 6+). The streak ends in July with a one-tenth loss to 6.8 (6+) – but in a bit of an oddity – “Z-104 Utah’s #1 Country” actually jumps from third to first. KSOP-FM succeeds Bonneville International’s KRSP “103.5 The Arrow,” which plunges by -1.4 (7.4 – 5.8, 6+) and dips from first to fourth. Entering the July sweep, “The Arrow” logged three increases in a row for a net +1.7 (5.7 – 5.8 – 6.1 – 7.4, 6+) and wound up having a July-only stay at #1. After dropping one-half share in June, Educational Media Foundation Contemporary Christian KKLV “107.5 K-Love” posts a gain three-times that size (2.0 – 3.5, +1.5, #18 to #12, 6+). Faltering by -1.2 and -1.0, respectively, are Cumulus Media Rock-formatted “KBER 101” (5.4 – 4.2, sixth to ninth, 6+) and Broadway Media CHR KUDD “Mix 105.1” (4.9 – 3.9, #9 to #11, 6+). Las Vegas
Leading the way for the tenth successive survey period, iHeartMedia Adult Contemporary KSNE “Sunny 106.5” has an April – May – June – July topline of: 7.1 – 7.9 – 7.9 – 7.5 (6+). In the Country arena, KSNE cluster-mate, KWNR “95.5 The Bull,” racks up a +1.3 (2.8 – 4.1, #12 to #5, 6+), while Beasley Broadcast Group-owned KCYE “107.9 Coyote Country” adds six-tenths (2.0 – 2.6, #19 to #12, 6+). Orlando
A combined -1.4 in June and July (9.9 – 8.6 – 8.5, 6+), Cox Media Group-owned WCFB is nonetheless #1 the third month in a row. “Star 94.5” was +1.8 in May to 9.9 (6+), nearly equaling January’s 10.2. Spanish Broadcasting System Spanish Contemporary “El Zol 95.3” improves by six-tenths (2.0 – 2.6, #16 to #13, 6+). Going back to September 2024, WPYO has consistently registered a 6+-stat between 2.0 – 2.9. Challenging “El Zol 95.3” is its own internet stream which appeared in June with a .4 (6+), but balloons by +1.4 to 1.8 (#17, 6+). Meanwhile, Cox Media Group’s similarly-formatted WOEX “Hits 96.5,” which had been a collective +1.2 the past two sweeps (2.9 – 3.6 – 4.1, 6+), relinquishes one full-share to 3.1 (flat at #11, 6+).
Cincinnati
Repeating at #1, iHeartMedia-owned “News Radio 700” WLW is a net +3.0 in five improvements in a row (7.3 – 7.8 – 8.8 – 9.4 – 9.7 – 10.3, 6+). The Reds flagship last reached double-digits (6+) in June 2024 (10.3, as well). At the same time when Cumulus Media Classic Hits “103.5 WGRR” is +1.1 (steady in the runner-up slot, 6+), iHeartMedia Rock “102.7 WEBN” is -1.1 (#7 to #11, 6+). WGRR is in an alternating up/down pattern that began in February: 9.2 – 9.8 – 8.7 – 9.1 – 8.3 – 9.4 (6+), while WEBN is a combined -1.5 in June and July (4.9 – 4.5 – 3.4, 6+).
Cleveland
Supplementing June’s massive +1.8 with an equally impressive +1.5 ((7.2 – 9.0 – 10.5, 6+), Urban One Urban AC “93.1 WZAK” progresses from second to first. WZAK’s combined +3.3 is just enough to overtake iHeartMedia Classic Hits WMJI, which had been on top the past 15 survey periods. “Majic 105.7” actually improves by two-tenths and is in double-digits (6+) for the ninth time in the last ten sweeps (10.1 – 10.3, first to second, 6+). WMJI was a combined +1.4 in April and May (9.5 – 10.3 – 10.9, 6+), but -.8 in June. Three successive upticks by Audacy-owned WNCX “98.5 Cleveland’s Classic Rock” have been by +.2; +1.1, and +1.0 (5.9 – 6.1 – 7.2 – 8.2, fifth to third, 6+). A combined +1.0 in May and June (7.5 – 7.6 – 8.5, 6+), co-owned Adult Contemporary WDOK “Star 102” regresses by -1.5 to 7.0 (third to fifth, 6+).
Kansas City
Not only is KCMO-FM #1 the 15th survey period in succession, “94.9 Kansas City’s Greatest Hits” busts out a gigantic +2.5 to 13.4 (6+). The Cumulus Media-owned outlet was a combined -1.5 in May and June (12.4 – 12.0 – 10.9, 6+). Classic Rock cluster-mate KCFX “101 The Fox” is a net +1.5 in three straight gains (7.1 – 7.4 – 7.8 – 8.6, 6+) and has its best 6+-stat (8.6) since October 2024’s 8.8. Amazingly, “The Fox” has been in the runner-up slot to KCMO-FM in each of the last 15 sweeps. Eroding by -1.2 each are Steel City Media CHR KMXV “Mix 93.3” (6.2 – 5.0, third to fourth, 6+) and Audacy Sports Talk/Royals flagship KFNZ “96.5 The Fan” (3.9 – 2.7, #9 to #15, 6+).
Columbus
An increase of seven-tenths (7.9 – 8.6, 6+) propels iHeartMedia Country “92.3 WCOL” from second to first. It succeeds co-owned CHR WNCI “97.9 Columbus’ Hit Music,” which had been on top the past four months. Up a combined four-tenths in May and June (8.2 – 8.5 – 8.6, 6+), WNCI has a July loss twice that size (7.8, -.8, 6+) and falls from first to third. Without an increase in four straight sweeps for a net loss of -1.9 (6.5 – 5.3 – 5.0 – 5.0 – 4.6, 6+), Urban One Urban AC WXMG “Magic 95.5” dramatically recuperates the entire deficit (plus an extra tenth) with a +2.0 to 6.6 (eighth to fifth, 6+). This marks the sixth straight down or flat trend by Ohio State University-owned News/Talk WOSU “89.7 NPR News” for a collective -1.7 (5.0 – 5.0 – 4.7 – 4.4 – 4.3 – 4.2 – 3.3, ninth to tenth, 6+).
Round Four
Austin
Erupting with a +2.0 (7.7 – 9.7, 6+), Sinclair Telecable/Waterloo Media Group Adult Hits KBPA “103.5 Bob FM” returns to #1 from the runner-up slot. “Bob” last occupied the top spot in April and has its best 6+-stat (9.7) since January’s 10.2. Despite gaining seven-tenths, University of Texas at Austin-owned News/Talk “KUT 90.5” trades places with “Bob” (8.9 – 9.6, first to second, 6+). KUT held or was tied at #1 the past five sweeps and actually posts its highest 6+-performance (9.6) since January and February (10.1, each of those survey periods). Locked on 2.8 (6+) in May and June, “KUTX 98.9” dials up a +1.1 to 3.9, its best 6+-stat since December 2024’s 4.2, as the University of Texas at Austin Triple A leaps from #14 to #9. Curtis Media Group’s WQDR-FM continues its winning ways with a massive +1.5, leaping from sixth to second. “Today’s Best Country 94.7 QDR” is a net +3.1 via six straight up or flat trends (5.3 – 5.9 – 6.0 – 6.0 – 6.3 – 6.9 – 8.4, 6+). By gaining eight-tenths, iHeartMedia’s similarly-formatted WNCB “B-93.9” repeats the 3.8 (6+) it had in April. Consistently in the 7.2 – 7.8 range (6+) the last seven sweeps, Curtis Media Group Classic Hits WKIX-FM “KIX 102” spirals by -1.6 to 6.1(second to sixth, 6+).
Indianapolis
In addition to registering back-to-back increases of three-tenths – after May’s +.8 – Urban One Urban AC WTLC-FM “106.7 Indy’s R&B Leader” jumps from third to first (7.4 – 8.2 – 8.5 – 8.8, 6+). Co-owned News/Talk WIBC had been on top in May and June, but “93.1 Indy’s News Center” stumbles by -1.6 to 8.6 (first to second, 6+). Entering the July sweep, WIBC was a net +1.2 in three straight gains (9.0 – 9.2 – 9.8 – 10.2, 6+). Fully erasing June’s -1.3 with July’s +1.3 (5.8 – 4.5 – 5.8, 6+), iHeartMedia Classic Rock WFBQ zooms from tenth to sixth. Immediately prior to June, “Q-95” was a collective +1.0 in three consecutive increases (4.8 – 4.9 – 5.3 – 5.8, 6+). Cumulus Media CHR WZPL “99.5 ZPL” forfeits June’s entire +1.1 – and one-tenth more – to fall from fourth to fifth (6.7 – 7.8 – 6.6, -1.2, 6+). Down six-tenths in June (3.9 – 3.3, 6+), Urban One Sports Talk/Indiana Pacers flagship WIBC-HD2 “The Fan” plummets -1.4 to 1.9 (#14 to #16, 6+).
Milwaukee
Despite being a net -1.5 the past three survey periods (11.7 – 10.4 – 10.3 – 10.2, 6+), iHeartMedia-owned WISN is #1 the 24th sweep in succession – and – is in double-digits (6+) the 17th straight time. “News/Talk 1130” has a 2.1-share lead over Classic Hits cluster-mate WRIT “95.7 Big FM,” which regains all but three-tenths of June’s -1.2 (8.4 – 7.2 – 8.1, unchanged at #2, 6+). “Big” entered the June sweep with a net +1.8 in back-to-back gains (6.6 – 7.9 – 8.4, 6+). Locked on 3.4 (6+) in May and June, Saga Communications Urban AC WJMR “Jammin’ 98.3” explodes with a +1.4 to 4.8 (#11 to #7, 6+). Nashville
Immediately after posting a massive +2.2 to 12.0 – its best 6+-stat since “Holiday” 2024’s 15.8 – Midwest Communications Adult Contemporary WJXA falters by -2.7 to 9.3 (6+). Nonetheless, “Mix 92.9” is #1 the ninth straight sweep. Conversely, iHeartMedia-owned WNRQ “105.9 The Rock,” which collapsed in June by -1.7 to 5.7 (6+), answers with July’s +1.5 to 7.2 (fifth to second, 6+); “The Rock” posted a 7.4 (6+) in March, April, and May. Cumulus Media Country “95.5 WSM-FM” (2.4 – 4.1, #15 to #12) and Midwest Communications Classic Country WNFN “Y’All 106.7” are +1.7 and +1.1, respectively. Sliding from fourth to ninth, Cumulus Media Urban AC WQQK “92-Q” is a collective -1.8 in three straight losses (6.7 – 6.4 – 5.9 – 4.9, 6+).
Providence
Even though Hall Communications’ WCTK adds six-tenths to June’s +.1 (9.1 – 9.2 – 9.8, 6+), “Cat Country 98.1” has to settle for a first-place tie with Cumulus Media Adult Contemporary WWLI. Off four-tenths in June (9.3 – 8.9, 6+), “Lite 105” posts an increase more than double the magnitude of that loss (9.8, +.9, 6+), segueing from second to catch “Cat” at #1. WCTK was on top in March and April, before being supplanted in May by “Lite,” which was a combined -1.6 in March and April (10.0 – 8.8 – 8.4, 6+), before rebounding in May with a +.9. Audacy Sports Talk WVEI “103.7 WEEI” tacks nine-tenths onto June’s +.2 (2.3 – 2.5 – 3.4, tenth to ninth, 6+).
