Mike Seltzer is a larger than life, longtime Detroit advertising executive, civic leader, media personality, and one of radio broadcasting’s most passionate advocates and historians. Throughout a career spanning advertising, broadcasting, community service, and public life, Seltzer has become a familiar and respected figure in the Detroit media landscape.

Seltzer built his professional reputation in the advertising industry through firms including Seltzer and Associates and SKM Marketing, where he developed creative campaigns, branding initiatives, and promotional strategies for regional and national clients. His innovative approach to marketing and deep understanding of media helped establish him as a prominent Detroit adman.

Beyond advertising, Seltzer has devoted much of his life to public service and community involvement. He served as an elected councilman, is an active Mason, and volunteers for Meals on Wheels, reflecting a long-standing commitment to civic engagement and helping others.

A lifelong radio enthusiast and historian, Seltzer is especially known for preserving and celebrating Detroit’s rich broadcasting legacy. He helped create Detroit’s famed Radio Reunion events, bringing together legendary personalities and fans from the great old days of radio. Today, he continues that tradition by hosting informal mini-reunions at Buddy’s Pizza locations throughout the Detroit area, where broadcasters, listeners, and industry veterans gather once per month to share memories and stories.
